In 2017 and 2018, EBSCO sponsored FOLIO Innovation Challenge award of between $5,000 and $20,000 to libraries based on the innovative solutions they propose that advance technology for libraries. Today, libraries are reporting on the grants:
- A reserve waitlist service notifying patrons when a reserve item is available for pick-up (University of Illinois)
- An equipment loan form for circulating digital cameras, audio records, and other electronics (University of Illinois)
- Incorporating a mobile wayfinding app into FOLIO (University of Illinois)
- Creating a driver to connect FOLIO to the VuFind discovery layer (Villanova University)
- Exposing existing databases to the FOLIO Codex Search (Johns Hopkins University)
- A “Lost Item” app for automating tasks for this workflow among various library staff (Lehigh University)
- University of Alabama Library Statistics module
